What is ISMP Japan?
International Student Mentorship Program Japan (ISMP) is a non-profit organization made up of working professionals who graduated from top schools in the U.S. and have experience working at large, international firms.
We provide mentorship for Japanese college students interested in studying or experiencing American culture. Studies show that America and Japan are often on opposite sides of the cultural spectrum. We aim to bridge that gap because we believe that meaningful cross-cultural connections can transform lives. That’s why ISMP Japan also provides cultural exchange events, homestay programs, and more.
ISMP mentorship is based on Christian values and virtues. However, the content is largely non-religious and open to all students, regardless of their religious or cultural backgrounds.

Are you planning to visit America? 🇺🇸🦅 Learn more about how you can experience a week-long homestay with an Amerian ISMP mentor in a city of your choice! 🌴choice!

Experience American culture in Japan! Every month or two, ACE visits Japan for about a week to host American cultural events, including holiday parties (Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.), American-style dinners featuring hamburgers and tacos, and sports like American football and basketball.

If you are traveling to America, the Homestay Program can connect you an ISMP mentor who will be your host family. They will host you in their home for one week for FREE, show you the best spots in their city, and teach you American culture!
What is American Culture Exchange?
American Culture Exchange (ACE) in Tokyo, Japan is a program from ISMP, a nonprofit Christian organization established by college graduate mentors from the United States.
We provide mentorship for Japanese university students interested in studying or experiencing American culture.
