ISMP North Carolina

Who We Are

We are a local chapter of the International Student Mentorship Program, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, in North Carolina. Our mission is to help international students connect and thrive in America. Our network of volunteer mentors are passionate about providing help and resources to guide you through each step of college and beyond!

What We Offer

  • It’s not easy learning to speak in English, recognizing idioms, and understanding what is being said or meant in a conversation. That’s why ISMP offers a safe space for international students to practice their English!

  • Adjusting to life in America can be exciting yet confusing. Whether it’s how to interact with Americans, how to prepare for your first football game, or how to celebrate a diverse range of holidays, we will step through it together and have plenty of fun along the way!

  • We provide guidance on various life topics that aren’t commonly learned in the classroom - time management, how to avoid scams, navigating healthcare, healthy cooking, productivity tips, etc. With our tips, you can become better equipped to tackle life with all its challenges.

  • Starting your career can be tough—but ISMP makes it easier. We offer support with resumes, networking, and job searching so university and grad students can feel prepared for what’s next!
